WITH YOUR

STUDENTS

Health World has partnered with a diverse group of health education advisors and professionals to bring digital and current resources to the classroom. Health World’s curriculum is easy to access and provides effective student engagement.

Our programs are available in two formats, Project & Print and 1:1. Each format includes the same material, but 1:1 provides individual logins for all of your students. Below you will find descriptions of the two formats and a list of programs available under this topic. These programs are available individually, as part of a topic bundle, and as part of a grade level bundle.

INDIVIDUAL COURSES

  • Friends & Allies

    Recommended Grade Levels: 4, 5, 6

This course can be a nice complement to an existing bullying prevention program in your school, or it can act as a stand-alone program that will teach students how to develop positive peer relationships and how to handle negative ones.

Students will identify the qualities that make up a good friend and, by using empathy, students will better understand how put-ups and put-downs impact relationships. Students will also be introduced to the various forms of bullying and the roles a person plays when there is bullying behavior. Anti-bullying strategies will be outlined, with an emphasis on how to band together with friends and allies to stop bullying together.

  • Getting Along With Others

    Recommended Grade Levels: 5, 6, 7, 8

In this course, participants will develop an understanding of what causes conflict, as well as healthy and unhealthy responses to it. Strategies to avoid conflict, such as walking away and compromising, will be demonstrated using real-life scenarios.

For conflicts that cannot be avoided, students will learn steps to resolving them, including the importance of getting the facts about a situation and using effective communication skills, such as I-messages, to talk out the problem. Cooperation and respect for others will be emphasized throughout the course.

  • Respect Diversity

    Recommended Grade Levels: 6, 7, 8, 9, 10

In this course, participants will explore their own diversity by identifying personal strengths and appreciating how these strengths unify communities. Through interactive activities and an educational video, students also further understand the effects of stereotyping and the importance of respect and empathy. The educational video will follow the path of stereotypes leading to prejudice, discrimination and finally bias, hate incidents and hate crimes.
