Health World's unique approach to nutrition education was presented at Gary Elementary School in West Chicago, IL. The entire 5th grade was involved in education programs that taught them about portion sizes, reading food labels and making healthy choices. These programs were presented by Health World educators and made possible through the generous support of the General Mills Community Action Council located in West Chicago

Nonprofits from around the country recently had the unique opportunity to help develop a grant program with the sole focus of making their organizations more effective. Health World Education was one of 14 organizations that received funding to develop a social media campaign to bring attention to and educate teens about the high risk associated with distracted driving.
The grant program launched in conjunction with The Allstate Foundation's sixtieth anniversary at a summit in Chicago that focused on building the capacity of nonprofits and a discussion on innovations in the nonprofit community

Ms. Flores embraced the idea of providing students within her district the opportunity to be part of the education production process. She remembers, "I couldn't think of a healthier way for our students to learn than through the hands-on approach Health World was offering with this collaboration." Ms. Flores continues, "In the end, our students were not only exposed to life-changing health instruction that empowered them, they also had an experience of a lifetime!
